Job title: Employer Engagement Assistant Reporting to: Employability Support Manager Main contacts: Employees of YES and supporting partners, managers and employees of Northwards Housing and Manchester City Council, tenants, residents and other members of the public visiting the building. Scale: £18,637 G4 SCP20 Scale: £13,320.85
Main purpose of the job: To assist with the development of Employer Engagement with in the Manchester area, by building strong relationships with local employers to secure job opportunities for our customers. Actively promoting the services of our organisation to a wide range of stakeholders
Key Responsibilities: To make initial contact with local employers and encourage them to meet the Employability Support Manager to discuss using YES to advertise any employment opportunities Develop strong relationships with local employers and providers to identify and maximise employment and training opportunities for our customers. Development of a database of employers in the Manchester area To engage employers in employer network events and to arrange and facilitate these work events To arrange appointments for the Employability Support Manager to visit employers Assist with the facilitation of advertising jobs, matching candidates, assist with shortlisting of candidates, arranging interviews and supporting employers as required. Regularly keep the database of employers and successful candidates updated Keep the partners at yes updated with employer information To keep records of contacts made and employers who engage with yes.
Comply with grant conditions, including engagement with MAES Work Club Volunteer Training programme, use of Works Star or similar outcome tool, and quality benchmark processes. To advertise job, volunteering or training opportunities to clients at the centre utilising a range of techniques. To share information with Job Clubs in the area.
To promote and raise awareness of YES among potential employers by participating in and conducting employer presentations, exhibitions and seminars. To maintain the confidentiality of all information on clients and employers. Attend training as required and participate fully in any appraisal and personal development programme. “It is the responsibility of all staff to minimise Northwards’ environmental impact wherever possible. This will include recycling, switching off lights, computers, monitors and equipment when not in use. Helping to reduce paper waste by minimising printing/copying and reducing water usage, reporting faults and heating/cooling concerns promptly and minimising travel. Where the role includes the ordering and use of supplies or equipment the post holder will consider the environmental impact of purchases.”

* Preferred experience of working within a multi-agency setting, recruitment,
employability or sales background.
