The Broughton Trust Job Title : Youth Work Mentor

Hours : Peer Mentor
– 16 hours per week.(including 4 hours at apprenticeship rate)

Adult Mentor -16 hours per

Reporting to:  Investing in Youth Manager


Accountable to: The
Broughton Trust Principal Officer


Place of Work: Based at The
Broughton Trust but working across the East Salford Wards of  Irwell Riverside, Broughton and Kersal.


Annual Leave: 80 hours per
12 months


Pay: First 8
weeks from 7th January  at
apprentice rate then as follows:-

18 – 20 yrs £6 per hours x 12 hours, and £2.65 (apprentice rate) .per
hour x 4 hours.

21+ £7.50 per hour – These rates
payable from 4th March 2013.


Purpose of Job:
To be involved in a range of structured youth and community
experiences in helping to develop and deliver the Investing in Youth Programme.




1. To promote the Investing in Youth Programme.


2. To recruit volunteer mentors and young people into Programme activities.


3. To provide young people with one to one mentoring support and


4. To identify suitable community projects for the Programme.


5. To organise youth and community events and activities.


6. To attend team meetings and contribute to the planning of the work Programme.


7. To participate in training activities in working towards youth work


8. To report issues of concern to the Investing in Youth Manager.


9. To be responsible for all aspects of health and safety within your
areas of responsibility.


10. To act at all times in accordance with the policies and
procedures of the Broughton Trust, respecting equality and diversity and
challenging discrimination.
