Where necessary, assist in corrective action for batches that do not meet their specifications.

Upload test results to a computer database to make them available for the Production department to generate certificates of analysis. Additionally maintain computer data systems to allow monitoring of trends.

Ensure efficient processing of samples through the QC process and maintain target residence times.

Maintain a storage area for retained samples (each sample being kept for 12 months) and contribute to the turnaround and cleaning of sample bottles on a monthly basis.

Carry out re-testing on materials whose shelf lives have expired (such samples may arrive at the laboratory from the Manchester warehouse or customer premises) and, where applicable, recommend a shelf-life extension.

Provide test data for stock transfers to ensure timely generation of certificates of analysis and dispatch to customers.

Contribute to regular calibration and maintenance of equipment and preparation of shared consumables to ensure efficient running of the laboratory and adherence to quality assurance protocols. Ensure high standards of laboratory cleanliness and tidiness, in line with the housekeeping guidelines provided.

Monitor stocks of mineral oils required by the laboratory for QC testing, maintain an up-to-date list of customer contacts, and take responsibility for obtaining further stocks where necessary in order to avoid delays to the QC process.

Work safely and responsibly at all times, using designated personal protective equipment, safeguarding health and safety of oneself and others.
