Prior to confirming customers place on open day, candidates will be asked to attend the employer suite with the required documents they will be advised of the date and time at point of referral.

This recruitment is intended to feed into the City Centre depot.

THIS IS NOT A SORTING OFFICE JOB

All roles are 12 weeks temp to perm, initially part time hours however, there will be opportunity to work additional hours and progress within the company. All new delivery operatives will be teamed up with a Buddy – Mentor. Whilst the contract is zero hours, the “anticipated average” working week is 30 hrs p/w. Salary – £6.50PH for first 3 months this can increase based on performance to a maximum of £7.95 PH
Flexible working hours but MUST be able to work mornings. Flexible starting time between 7am – 9.30am but working pattern will be discussed in advance. Must be flexible on finishing times as may vary from day to day depending on the work volumes.

Essential criteria –

Must be willing / able to ride a bicycle
Physically fit as will need the ability to lift up to 16 Kg bags as well as ride bicycle with bags 3 x 16 kg on board.
Able to walk 2.5 to 6 hours per day.
Map reading ability
Flexible available to work between MON – SAT
Happy to work outside in all weather conditions
Conscientious
Team Worker

Self-Managing and disciplined.
Reliability / Independent / Street wise tough but not rough.
Willingness to learn

All candidates will undergo a basic CRB check (any convictions must be declared at application stage to demonstrate honesty & integrity and will be considered on a case by case basis. Useful information for advisers – If the customer has a conviction for theft or fraud they are unlikely to be deemed suitable.

Must be able to provide the following documents at the open day –

Right to Work – Full UK or Irish Birth Certificate The short version will not be accepted or a Passport and if required a valid stamped Visa in their passport or valid European ID card

Proof of National Insurance Number – NI Card, Letter from Job Centre (not signing book), Any documentation from the Inland Revenue. Pay slips are not acceptable.

2 X Proof of Address dated within 3 months of registration date – Bank statement, Utilities Bill or Mobile phone Bill

Letter from Job Centre confirming their dates of unemployment within the last 3 years (stamped and dated) this is used as a reference to confirm unemployed periods.

CV to include previous three years employment history or study history

2 x Personal References for 5 years or 1 x Personal Reference for 10 years. Must be employed within a profession and not related to the candidate.

Open Day with GI Group –

Open Day will cover presentation on job role,
Numeracy/literacy assessment (Entry Level 2 required) and Map reading exercise.
One to One informal interview with GI Group
Online Assessment to be completed in candidates own time (which must be accessed within 48 hrs of issue).

If successful with GI Group process –

20 minute informal interview with end employer (at the employer suite)
Cycle Assessment
Delivery Unit mock training session (at the employer suite)
If successful will be employed by GI for the first 3 months & then passed to end employer. (same terms and conditions apply)
