Description Role Purpose: As part of a multi skilled business protection and security team, the Asset Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring and applying on a daily basis, company best practice standards, HMG security legislation , local authority legislation(fire)and company security and safety policy.
Experience from UK military/defence sector would be advantageous.

1. Act as the initial ‘Incident Controller’ and mobilise the company Major Incident management plans.
2. Operate and monitor all security, safety and fire systems
3. Carry out control of entry requirements, including pass issue and programming for employees, contractors and visitors.
4. Carries out foot & mobile patrols on company premises on and off site.
5. Ensure all physical & electronic security measures and systems function correctly & efficiently to ensure compliance with HMG & Company standards of acceptance.
6. Responds appropriately to all incidents, conducts initial investigation & compiles & submits full & detailed reports.
7. Conduct initial investigations into breaches of security and submits appropriate and detailed reports
8. Assist with & undertake training programmes to ensure efficiency & multi-skilling.
9. Become familiar with & conduct ‘specialist’ security administration activities, e.g. Security Vetting, ID Checking, Registry & Document Controls, Crypto Management, C-CURE Access Control Management and/or Operation.
10. Become familiar with the roles/responsibilities of the Lostock Site Security Manager & assist/deputise when required.
11. Prioritise daily workload in order to comply with HMG & company security requirements.
12. Administer/provide First Aid treatment when required.
Performance Indicators:
• Operate to agreed standard & in accordance with legislation.
• Report equipment faults in a timely manner.
• Initiate call-out of emergency services in accordance with company process.
• Ensure appropriate issue of passes & electronic access permissions.
• Buildings secured security & SHE issues noted & reported.
• Initiate appropriate call-out
• Carry out initial investigation if appropriate.
• Breach report form completed
• Identify & successfully complete any future training needs.
• Ensure an appropriate level of security support services are provided to the business 24/7
• Seamless service provision during the Manager’s absence (holiday, sickness or other)
• No missed calls or actions, reports and investigations completed in a timely & proactive manner.
Skills/Knowledge required for this role:
• Competent working knowledge of relevant equipment and reporting procedures.
• Knowledge of HMG security clearance procedures
• Good knowledge of HMG & Company Security instructions
• First Aid Qualified
• Fire safety Awareness training
• ESD safety training undertaken.
• Good interpersonal skills
• NVQ Level 2 or BTEC Qualified
• Good working knowledge of security/safety processes
• Working knowledge of other company processes
• Articulate, numerate & IT literate to enable security activities to be carried out
• Knowledge of the CCTV Code of Conduct & Data Protection Act awareness/compliance
• Good problem solving skills and customer focus (internal & external).
• Good site knowledge & full understanding security restrictions and applications.
