Job Opportunity: Youth Participation Worker post

Voluntary                Youth Manchester is                keen to appoint a                dynamic and experienced JNC qualified youth worker, who                will be responsible for planning, delivering and                evaluating an innovative participation programme across                the city of Manchester.                The programme aims to give an effective voice to the                most marginalised young                people so the worker will need to be able to work with                them effectively as                individuals and in groups, using youth work methods to                contribute to a                developing young people’s magazine.

Since                the magazine is already in development, the                priority for the Youth Participation Worker will be to                support young people                already involved in the project, and to further engage                marginal young people whose voice                is seldom heard.

Please                note, while experience of producing publications                with young people might be useful, it is in no way                essential to the role of                this worker, the emphasis here being on the youth work                skills and experience of                the worker.

The                post is offered for a period of 18 months, to                start as soon as possible, and is open to the option of                a secondment. Subject                to need and funding the period of 18 months may be                extended.
