Job Outline:

Responsible for the day to day delivery of IT production services/technical infrastructure (run and change), the development and subsequent implementation of the technical infrastructure and production services strategy for the electronic monitoring business and supporting systems.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Form, evolve & deliver a IT Production Service Strategy that defines the roadmap of service to the customer and covers technology, process, tool and people roadmaps
  • Lead a team to fully support the G4S EM IT infrastructure within SLA’s, provide technical leadership, out of hours support, implement upgrades, ensure that procedures, response actions and logs are all fully documented, and incidents and alerts are dealt with, and credible disaster recovery solutions are in place to support business continuity
  • Proactively manage/mitigate potential risks, and ensure resilience and security is to policy
  • Lead a team of committed engineers using best practice methods and an ethos of continuous improvement, customer service and responding positively to customer feedback, actively developing the team through coaching and feedback
  • Manage the commercial relationship (up to several 100k) with external service providers delivering aspects of production service on our behalf, ensuring their quality of delivery is consistent with what we expect
  • Work proactively with the systems delivery team to deliver the Technical infrastructure aspects of projects, and ensure any changes to production services are implemented to time, cost and quality standards
  • Provide effective team leadership that leads by example, demonstrates and embeds the G4S values, displays and drives through a can do culture.
  • Use production incidents as a learning experience, and drive root cause problem management to ensure full remediation and future prevention and articulate impact in concise business language
  • Maintain and enhance key accreditations e.g. ISO27001
