The BMHC is an 18th century Grade II listed building located in the heart of Manchester and situated within eight acres of attractive greenery.

Among the facilities we are now offering a new state of the art banqueting marquee. This will be launching in June 2014. Catering for events of 600+ people additional to conference/banqueting halls within the main BMHC building.

Our event management team offer their services within a thriving and busy department.

We wish to appoint an Events Co-ordinator who will operate across all areas of events within the BMHC, providing a supporting role across a number of different functions, working with a number of different departments in all aspects of events management.

There is a demanding but varied workload which requires both commitment and initiative. It requires a very proactive approach from someone who is capable of seeing the `bigger picture` at all times and is subsequently able to determine the impact of decisions and plan/act accordingly. This person will be used to working in a fast paced environment. They will have excellent time management and organisational skills, be self-motivated and have a willingness to assist with any job, no matter how big or small.

An ability to absorb information is essential, as is a professional and calm manner. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a genuine desire to develop their role and career.

You may have experience in this field however your commitment to a high level of customer service will be of paramount importance.

The role will include:

· The sales, marketing and promotion of all BMHC events

· On the day event co-ordination in order to exceed the customer’s expectations

· Supervise the set-up, running, and break down of the event, identifying and resolving problems

· To gather final details for the BMHC event and to produce an accurate function sheet to the agreed standard

· To research theming/entertainment for BMHC events

· To deliver outstanding customer service

· Produce the Events Competitor Analysis

· To handle customer telephone/face to face enquiries or requests providing correct and accurate assistance or information that meets their needs

· To maximise sales through up selling and cross selling

· To develop new business through enhanced reputation

· To update the BMHC Events Board ad-hoc and communicate these to the team along with weekly Sales and Marketing activities

· To work closely with Marketing to ensure that all internal and external modes of communication are used to promote BMHC events

· To ensure that all BMHC events provisional and confirmed bookings are updated onto database system

· To chase and process all provisional BMHC bookings, deposits and final payments

· To produce the function sheets for all BMHC events

· To produce Lists outlining any special requirements for customers attending any BMHC events

· To produce Floor Plans for BMHC events

· To produce a detailed competitor analysis on venues in the Greater Manchester area and the Events that they have to handle complaints promptly and professionally, demonstrating genuine care and concern.

· To continually communicate with Event Managers and organisers to ensure event success.

· To ensure catering team are fully briefed on food/drink requirements in advance of all events and it is followed through on the event date ensuring the catering team service deliver

· To ensure all legal and statutory regulations and responsibilities are met in order to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, your colleagues and our customers.

· To demonstrate a high standard of personal appearance

· To provide Event organisers with venue knowledge

· Report all Fall out on Booking

Please be aware that due to the nature of this role, we will only be able to select candidates for interview who have experience of Events Organisation

· This is not a Monday to Friday 9 to 5 role. Weekend and evening work is required and in return you will get thorough training and a great experience where no day is ever the same! Own car is required.
