What You’ll Be Doing

* To assist in the delivery of our established CELTA courses, which currently are run as intensive four-week blocks and
as part-time sixteen-week blocks

* To follow CELTA guidelines and implement assessors’ recommendations/suggestions

* To do input sessions and TP observations on CELTA courses

* To support trainees throughout courses

* To liaise with the tutors’ team

* To deal with all relevant paper work and keep accurate records of all administration for the relevant courses

* To interview CELTA candidates when required

* To liaise with and report to Director of Teacher Training

* To prepare and teach on other teacher-training courses as required – e.g. one-day introductory CELTA “Taster”
courses, in-service for qualified teachers, etc.

* To participate in other EFL teaching (up to 25 class contact hours per week) at times when teacher-training is not
being offered. Other teaching-related duties to include: assessment of students; keeping records of all teaching work
and information relevant to students; lesson planning, course design and production of materials where required; help
in maintaining efficient organisation of teaching materials; participation in staff meetings and in-service sessions

* To have input into staff development, both the teacher training team and EFL staff

* To ensure that Health and Safety guidelines are followed

* To follow all security guidelines required by the Operations Manager, Director of Teacher Training and Academic
Manager

* To report back immediately to the Operations Manager or Director of Teacher Training/Academic Manager any
issues/faults about equipment and maintain open lines of communication

* To manage work independently and without close supervision

* To have a friendly, open and caring approach to internal and external clients

What We’re Looking For

* Appropriate qualifications, which should include a relevant degree and a high level TEFL teaching qualification, e.g.
the RSA DELTA or equivalent.

* CELTA training experience, including approval by Cambridge ESOL to act as a CELTA trainer

* A wide range of relevant TEFL teaching experience and Teacher Training experience

* Ability to motivate and lead when required

* Familiarity with CELTA administration

* The ability to work independently and without close supervision, whilst always remembering the importance of
reporting back to management (Director of Teacher Training, Academic Manager and Operations Manager) and maintaining
open lines of communication.

* The ability to work as part of a team along with other staff.

* Readiness to be flexible and adaptable in dealing with the requirements of the position.

* A friendly, open and caring personality, relating well to all types of students, together with the ability to
maintain firm control and discipline in the classroom.
